Workshop 3: Is an Online Format Right for You and Your Course?

In this workshop you will learn the advantages and disadvantages of creating your course in an online format. This workshop also serves as an introduction to the Cyber Pedagogy courses available from CTLE (UGS 6510 and 6520). Come to the workshop with your questions about online classes and leave with the skill to make an informed decision about choosing an online format. Participants are asked to bring the syllabus of one course that you might be considering for an online format.

The Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence (CTLE) is pleased to present Technical Training and Best Practices with Audience Response Pads (clickers) in Higher Education. The University of Utah recently selected TurningPoint as the clicker to be used across campus. Attend one of the technical training sessions on December 3 and/or the best practices workshop on December 4 and understand how to best use this valuable resource to increase learning in the classroom. The workshop is intended for all levels of clicker users, from those who have never used the technology to those who have.

Workshop 5: Dissecting Student Course Feedback and Maximizing its Value

The Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence (CTLE) is pleased to present Dissecting Student Course Feedback and Maximizing Their Value. End of semester student course feedback (SCF) can sometimes be confusing and frustrating. At the end of this workshop you should be able to identify perceptions and misperceptions about student feedback, use quantitative and qualitative approaches to maximize the value of the feedback, encourage effective feedback from students, and see upcoming enhancements. Participants are asked bring their latest student course evaluation results to the workshop. Fall 2009 results are available from your department administrator as of January 5, 2010.
